Ballahane Cottage is a four star self-catering holiday cottage, sleeping 4-6 people.
We are full for TT week 2011 but not for practice week and Grand Prix is still available...so far.
The cottage sits in a half acre private garden and is tastefully renovated to include polished beech floors, large open fireplaces, traditional antique pine kitchen and 4-poster bed. This is an ideal retreat for a couple or family seeking quality and relaxation.
An ideal sea-side location for those interested in walking, fishing, diving, golf, motor sport, or just simply to relax and enjoy the peaceful environment.
Ballahane cottage started its life in the early 19th century as the Maddrell family farmhouse. It is now one of 3 houses sited around the farm and latterly has been completely renovated for the enjoyment of our visitors.
We are very proud of our family history and have striven to blend modern convenience without compromising its delightful character or historical Manx past.
In the Summer months, the Isle of Man Steam Railway trains can be heard puffing through the fields below the cottage, making Ballahane an idyllic location for anyone who wishes to combine an air of nostalgia with golden beaches, rolling countryside and quality accommodation.
We have worked particularly hard to create a garden (above) of peace and tranquility that the children will love to play in and the adults to relax in. A BBQ is provided for the outdoor chef and a lovely circular patio with table and chairs to enjoy those sunny evening G and T times.
There is ample off-road parking space adjacent to the main garden area.
Ballahane is situated just 7 minutes walk from either Port Erin or Port St Mary, the cottage is an ideal spot to take advantage of both.
Combining beach, country-side and our own unique history is a Manx speciality. The beach at Port Erin is perfect for families, with safe, golden sands and rocky inlets set against a backdrop of beautiful Bradda Head.
Port St Mary lies back to back with its twin resort of Port Erin, a quieter resort centred around a busy harbour.
The cottage is also ideally placed within walking distance of the village of Cregneish, where thatched cottages form a living folk museum; and a popular film location.
Local amenities within a maximum10 minute walking distance are: tennis courts, bowling green, pitch and putt, swimming pool, 2 golf courses, all shops, PO, supermarket etc
